A first of this origin for Erie Coffee Roasters, this is a delightful lot of coffee from the Chiapas Region of Mexico. Located in the buffer zone of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, this coffee is grown in the highlands of the Sierra Madre, close to the Huehuetenango Region of Guatemala. This region is one of the most diverse forest reserve areas in the world and contains Mesoamerica's largest cloud forest, as well as a protected natural environment for thousands of plant and animal species. All of the coffee produced here is shade-grown.
This region has all of the perfect growing conditions, plus the passion for growing high quality, delicious coffee shown by the farmers is contagious. Hand-picked at its peak, completely washed, dried, and then roasted at ECR with precision, this lot of coffee is remarkable!
